Gipping Service Update

This Health Surveillance and Clinical Assessments update is provided in the context of the new national restrictions due to start on 5th November 2020

Current guidance from the Health and Safety Executive states ‘for all health and medical surveillance, an adequate assessment of the worker should continue to take place with the provision of appropriate advice to the worker and employer’

During “lockdown” where possible, health surveillance should be delivered remotely by telephone or video call and by use of specific hazard related questionnaires. This was achieved successfully during the previous lockdown by our team to ensure our Clients’ health surveillance legal obligations continued to be met.

Face to face assessments are permitted where essential; for example the assessment of safety-critical workers in construction and forklift truck drivers or where clinical indications suggest increased health risk. In conjunction with our Clients, risk assessments would need to be completed to determine that a face to face assessment is necessary and deemed essential.

We continue to offer all other remote services by telephone, video call and surveillance questionnaire as we have done throughout the pandemic.

These include

  • Health Surveillance
  • Management Referrals
  • Covid related fitness for work assessments
  • Sickness absence management
  • Covid PCR swab testing
  • New starter fitness to work screening
  • DSE assessments
  • Employee Assistance Programmes
  • Mental health support
  • Online Mental Health First Aid Training
  • Nightworker assessments
